St. Croix County Salt Wise Winter Equipment Open House

St. Croix County is becoming more Salt Wise through training, experience and modern equipment. In 2019. we moved into our modern highway facility that includes a brine maker and blend boss. Since then our liquid usage has increased with each winter season. The winter of 2022/2023 in St. Croix County set a personal record of 267,889 gallons of liquids applied to our roadways. Liquid tanks ranging from 400 to 900 gallons are standard on all new State and County maintenance trucks. By utilizing the power of brine, we've been able to reduce total salt use per lane mile.

We'd like to facilitate conversation around current salting practices, goals and barriers, and brainstorm solutions through a show-and-tell of snow and ice management equipment.
